The positions are open to all engineering levels and will involve working in a small team across a wide range of disciplines on all project phases from concept to completion. Prior experience is not essential however the candidate should detail any previous experience they have in energy, pharmaceutical or water treatment sectors. General industrial or construction experience should also be noted.

We are currently seeking two highly motivated Mechanical Engineers to join our expanding team. Roles are available for both graduate/junior and intermediate/senior levels. In our Graduate Programme engineers will undergo on-the-job training, close supervision and coaching appropriate to their level of experience. More senior engineers will be provided with support and training to allow them deliver to their potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and specification of equipment, systems and services.
  • Carry out calculations such as head loss, thermal and stress.
  • Coordination with other disciplines e.g. civil, structural and electrical.
  • Preparation of P&IDs, general arrangement layouts, equipment datasheets, and technical reports.
  • Understand the relevant technical, health & safety and environmental legislation, guidance, standards and codes of practice.
  • Draft enquiry documents so that suppliers can bid for products and services.
  • Technical and commercial evaluation of tender returns.
  • Manage projects through their life cycle with clients and contractors, having a focus on technical standard, schedule delivery and commercial responsibility.
  • Site inspections and contractor management.

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Level 8 minimum).
  • Good technical understanding of core engineering principles such as thermodynamics and fluid mechanics.
  • Motivated self-starter, with a good work ethic, who can actively progress their own learning and development.
  • Learn on the job with exposure to specific codes and standards, sophisticated software products, and complex calculations.
  • Solution oriented, safety conscious, environmentally aware, creative and practical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to review, assimilate and analyse information.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Work independently and in a small team environment.
  • Good organisational and time management skills that will enable working on several projects at the same time.
